Arranged in mass for fun and effect |
I love taking along a little hex project.
I pulled all of these finished pieces out, to make room for fabrics for the next batch.
These are half inch papers.
I started them to use in my personal version of the Brown Basket Quilt. Surprising how they add up with little odd bits of time on planes, trains and automobiles!
The rejects for the basket quilt will go into a doll quilt.
Have a great week!
Dawn
So very lovely Dawn! Those flowers are so small- delightful!
ReplyDeleteI've spent a long, loooonnng time studying this picture of your wonderful work. They are awesome!! On the right, at the edge, there's a blue one with a red center that looks like a star; I LOOOOOVE it! Oh and that purple one right beside the pencil... oooohhh they are all awesome! A lot of fussy cutting has been going on at your house. Great work!
ReplyDeleteHexagons are a great travel project and it looks like you have a beautiful start on yours.

OMG, so beautiful! I am planning on making a hexie purse someday with 1/2" hexies. Am I making it? No. lolol! Someday!
ReplyDeleteOh, I had forgotten all about your stunning brown basket quilt. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYes, hexies make great travel projects--if there is enough light. The older I get, the more necessary that becomes. : )
So cute! You are going to have a hard time finding rejects!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your personal basket project. I'm making my own as well... it's a dutch blog, but maybe you enjoy the pictures of it! It's called oud-engelse mandjes quilt. Love your version, I'm not into making hexagons myself so it will look a little bit different!
ReplyDeleteHappy quilting greetings! Nathalie
I love your hexagons. Have a safe, fun trip.

Well, I'm glad you are doing this, Dawn! You can tell me all about the experience as I will never,I repeat, never, tackle such a thing myself! It's amazing. My goal is just to try the technique - in a larger size hex - and doubt I would even be able to get to doll size...however,I suppose I could be surprised...addictions can creep up on you!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are doing this...you can tell me all about the experience as I will never,I repeat, never, do it. I do hope to try the method with larger hexes but doubt I'll even get as far as a doll quilt. Very awesome!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little hexies - and such a great portable project!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels!
Long live hexie project! Lovely blog... I'll be back!
