It is time for the mid month link up post for the Shenandoah Valley Botanical Album Quilt.
February Is the 'Red Tulip' Block.
A cheerful block for the month, the slender stems and layered flower heads were a joy to stitch.
My blocks could all use a good steam on a white fluffy towel after moving across the country!
I'll do that on the day I assemble all of them.
Shona also finished hers.
(No Blog or Facebook so I share for her)
So pretty on the patterned background.
There are so many varieties of this quilt in the works.
To see more blocks visit the SVBAQ blog or Facebook Page.

Happy Stitching,

OMG they are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you, we are blushing with your compliment!
DeleteYour applique is beautiful. I enjoy appique but some of those narrow pieces look intimidating to stitch.
ReplyDeleteI chose to make my blocks extra small for the personal challenge. The original antique quilt is a 20" block.
DeleteYour block looks gorgeous! I love the tulips :0)
ReplyDeleteDawn precioso bloque
ReplyDelete¡¡me encanta !!
buen fin de semana
Gracias y feliz costura una buena semana a ti también
DeleteBoth blocks turned out so beautiful, and ofcourse I love tulips. I am so pleased to have had the opportunity to see your blocks up close and personal, Dawn, so I can really imagine how tiny and neat your stems and tulips must be.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you could see the blocks as well. Maybe one day you can see it all quilted!
DeleteIt's a wonderful block and your smaller version is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThe applique work on both blocks is awsome!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! And small.....
ReplyDeleteSo how small did you challenge yourself to go on the blocks, Dawn? It is stunning, no matter the size!
ReplyDeleteI just came from the link to the blog, where I enjoyed each variation, but I must admit that the purple flowers made me pause and take a second look. : )
My background is cut at 8.5" - will decide when I trim, but will probably finish at 8".
DeleteThere are so many stunning variations being made! Love the photos each month.
Very elegant, lovely tulip blocks. Love tulips and cannot wait to see them growing in our country again. It is one of the wonderful things about spring in our country... we have a lot of grey skies often, then to see the colors of the tulips in spring is just wonderful. So I love the bright colors you used <3
ReplyDeleteFabulous block Dawn! Thanks for sharing Shona's too. It is stunning.
ReplyDeleteYour block is gorgeous with those narrow stems, I love seeing that bright yellow peeking through! Shona's looks wonderful as well, I love to see everyone's versions of these blocks each month.
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous block! :) It was fun to see two renditions of it.
